I took a drive into the Texas Hill Country Sunday morning (it was modestly cool until about 10am). I thought I'd share a photo/video. This is a panorama converted to a video of Buchanan Dam. The panarama image used to create this video is below in the comments. Buchanan Dam is a multiple arch dam located on the Colorado River. The dam, completed in 1938, is an architectural rarity. Stretching for more than two miles, Buchanan is considered the longest multiple-arch dam in the nation, according to it's owner Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) The dam forms Lake Buchanan.
Shout-out to all those who've climbed to the top! I've done it several times with family over the years. Enchanted Rock (16710 Ranch Rd 965, Fredericksburg TX) is an enormous pink granite pluton batholith located in the Llano Uplift approximately 17 miles (27 km) north of Fredericksburg, Texas and 24 miles south of Llano, Texas, United States. Enchanted Rock covers approximately 640 acres and rises approximately 425 feet above the surrounding terrain.
