2018 was a departure for me in more ways then one. I terminated my lease in Austin, Texas, put my stuff in storage and refocused my life on travel. Austin's ABC affiliate KVUE television did a story on my activities here. The photos in this gallery are my favorites from this nomadic lifestyle. I'll continue to add to them here as time permits. This is one of the reasons I love drone photography: Sending the drone out behind a lighthouse to capture a shot that you just cannot otherwise get, short of renting a chopper. Shot in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, WI.
Sturgeon Bay Canal North Pierhead lighthouse and Lake Michigan
This is a drone shot of the Sturgeon Bay Canal North Pierhead lighthouse, Door County, WI shot minutes before the ground shot posted the other day. It’s a very different mood from the air than from the ground. The expanse of Lake Michigan becomes apparent. Yes, the lighthouse is really that red.
I spent the day exploring Door County, WI shooting fall foliage from the ground and air. After a rocky start with snow flurries the weather behaved and we even got a wonderful sunset. This is Sturgeon Bay Canal North Pierhead lighthouse, Door County, WI.
