Early on in my Western U.S. Road Trip I stopped by Monument Valley just to take this photo. Monument Valley is quite the sight to see during the day as well and I enjoyed it then too but at night under the stars was what I was after. In other news... Yesterday I booked my next trip, this one will take me out of the United States for the first time since last summer. I head to Iceland for 10 days in mid July. I've never been but I hear it's a photographers dream. However I'm sure it will take some getting used to sunsets at 11:30pm and sunrises at 2am. I've got my list of stops but if you've been, please share your best recommendations.
Milky Way
Sunset at Horseshoe Bend in Arizona where you can actually walk right up to the edge of this 1,000 ft high cliff. That’s the Colorado River down there. The dot to the left of my left shoe is kayak. There were easily several hundred people on this ledge with me watching sunset. Many of them were photographers so I had to do something unique with my sunset shot. It felt great to sit down and stretch out my legs. Road trip day 12. I’m on a 40+ day, 5,000+ mile #roadtrip of the western United States. ?#horseshoebend
